About Braver Angels

Braver Angels (originally known as Better Angels) is a non-profit organization founded in 2017 with the goal of bringing Americans together across the partisan divide to better understand one another and to strengthen our democratic republic. Braver Angels is grassroots, cross-partisan, and largely volunteer-led. Members organize in-person and online events for national audiences, as well as local activities through smaller regional chapters (called "alliances"). These events bring together conservatives, liberals, and others who want to get past destructive stereotypes and build the skills to have respectful conversations about real issues that lead to productive problem-solving. We strive to ensure that everyone--regardless of their political opinions--feels heard and respected.

Our monthly meetings alternate between Zoom and in-person venues somewhere in the greater Richmond and greater Williamsburg areas. Informal gatherings between meetings allow members to build stronger relationships across ideological lines.
